Head Archery Coach Ricky Sauls expressed his excitement about Hyatt joining the team: "I am very excited to have Lillie joining the SIC Falcon Archers this fall. Lillie has not been shooting long, but she is very enthusiastic and can’t wait to get started competing. I am sure her enthusiasm will be contagious and will benefit the whole team."
During her time at North Posey High School, Lillie Hyatt has shown dedication both academically and athletically. She is the first North Posey student to earn an athletic scholarship for archery. Hyatt plans to major in nursing at SIC and has aspirations to become a Trauma Nurse at Deaconess upon completion of her studies.
Amy Duvall, Assistant Principal at North Posey High School, shared her pride in Lillie's achievements: "Lillie Hyatt is the first North Posey student to earn an athletic scholarship for archery. Lillie will graduate in May and intends to major in nursing. Lillie has only been a Viking for a short time, but we are proud to call her one of our own! Way to go Lillie."
The addition of Lillie Hyatt to the SIC Falcon Archers further strengthens the team's commitment to excellence and sportsmanship. The Falcon Archers, which began as a small pilot program in 2011, have since won national awards against Division I universities, expanded to include an indoor facility and indoor team, and regularly host high school tournaments. The Falcon Archers are proud members of USA Archery and ASA Archery.
